A school project made by myself and a few friends. We were instructed to make a rap song so we parodied American Boy by Estelle & Kanye West.
Production:
The song was written over the course of a few days leading up to Columbus Day, and on said day our group finished writing and produced the entire song. Two dudes who weren’t even apart of our group were there as well. The Music Video was filmed two days later, when we had half the day off after we took the PSAT. It consists of random clips from our afternoon. Some notable locations include Blissbee, University Mall, and Barnes & Noble.
Trivia:
- In one of the Blissbee scenes, the receipt shows the name “Max Imumoccupancy120”, a reference to The Dictator (2012).
- The black and white aesthetic is an homage to Clerks (1994).
- The camera used is the Canon PowerShot SX10 IS, released in 2007
- This is actually a first draft. It features a typo at 1:20, where “Colonail” is written instead of “Colonial”. Also, at 2:51, Jonah says “fuck” which we determined was too inappropriate for a school project so I censored it in the final.
